Covid19: Mauritius Entry Requirements

As from March 12, 2022, here are the COVID 19 protocols for those looking forward to travel to Mauritius.

Good news! It is no more required to provide a negative PCR test before travelling to Mauritius. Still, upon arrival, you will have to do an antigenic test. Also, you cannot travel to Mauritius if you have been tested positive to covid19 up to 7 days before your travel to Mauritius Island.

Below are the requirements that can be split into two categories, one for those who are vaccinated and the other one for those who are unvaccinated.

Vaccinated Guests

Ok, so first things first

How vaccinated must one be vaccinated to enter Mauritius?

  1. Received the vaccines recognized by the Mauritian Authorities

  2. Have received 2 doses of the recognized vaccines, ( except for Johnson & Johnson) where only 1 dose is enough.

  3. The second dose ( where the 2 doses vaccinations are required) must have be done by latest 15 days before your stay dates. For Johnson & Johnson, by latest 29 days before your stay dates on the island.

  4. If you have been previously contaminated to Covid19. You must provide an official document to attest it, along with a dose received prior to the contamination or a post-infection vaccination 15 days before travelling.

What are the vaccines approved in Mauritius Island?

Here is the list:

  • AstraZeneca: Covishield

  • AstraZeneca: Vaxzevria

  • Covaxin

  • Johnson & Johnson

  • Moderna

  • Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine

  • Sinopharm

  • Sputnik V

  • Sinovac- CoronaVac

  • Novavax: Nuvaxovid / Covovax

What happens if you do not comply with the above?

Well, you will be simply considered as unvaccinated and will have to undergo the protocols of unvaccinated guests travelling to Mauritius.
