About the Experience

Journey through southern Mauritius on a private full-day tour combining the island’s tea-making heritage, fascinating wildlife, authentic local flavours and spectacular coastal scenery.

Discover a quieter and more authentic side of Mauritius, where rolling tea fields, tropical wildlife and a dramatic coastline reveal the distinctive character of the south.

Begin at Bois Chéri, surrounded by green plantations stretching across the cool southern highlands. Visit the tea factory and museum to explore the story of Mauritian tea, from cultivation and processing to the traditions that have made it part of everyday island life. Complete the visit with a tasting of locally produced teas while enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Continue to La Vanille Réserve des Mascareignes, a tropical nature park renowned for its giant tortoises and crocodiles. Wander through its lush setting and encounter some of the fascinating species protected within the reserve.

After lunch in a typical restaurant, travel towards the untamed southern coast. At Gris Gris and La Roche Qui Pleure, powerful waves meet rugged volcanic cliffs, creating scenery unlike the calm lagoons found elsewhere in Mauritius.

Combining tea culture, wildlife, gastronomy and coastal discovery, this private South Mauritius tour is ideal for travellers wishing to experience the island beyond its beaches. Contact our local team to include this authentic journey in your stay.
